Sunrise Mine Trail

For my tastes, this area had the most stunning viewpoints for ease of getting there. The trailhead is 2 miles down a good gravel road and closer views are available with a moderate 1 mile hike.

There are just stunning views from the trailhead. No need to go any further.

One of the greatest things about this trail, is that in addition to all of the great viewpoints, it also has a really great waterfall an easy 1/8th of mile up the trail.

I am not totally sure that this is a spring, but I circled it looking for a source and couldn't find anything else. Very cool spot.

This is Del Campo Peak, which is a very popular climb here.

Another peak in the area, sorry don't know the name.

Jeff makes a funny at the expense of the Forest Services trail maintenance in this area. This is an old bridge that rotted out and was never replaced. We noticed a huge gap in the caretaking of more popular trails (which were pretty much like walking around in Disneyland) and less popular ones (where you are clinging to slippery logs and rocks for your life at torrential water crossings-okay slight exaggeration).
