Other Waterfalls

Both of these falls are located near Monroe, WA. Explorer falls is about a 40 minute drive and Wallace Falls (State Park) is about an hour.

Wallace Falls

This is only the lower falls? It was very challenging just to get to this point. The trail is only about 2.5 miles, but pretty unrelenting. The first mile is gradual, but afer that it is up, up, up!! The State Parks seem to have very good trail maintenance, which helps.

If the lower falls is this good...We decided that it was definitely worth it to keep on up to the middle falls.

Can you see up in there? I love that.

Another shot of the middle falls.

The upper falls with a rainbow!

Explorer Falls

This fall is really cool because in about 15 minutes, you can take a steep trail right up to the top. It isn't a wimpy fall, just a very accessible one.

There is a cave at the bottom of the falls known by locals as the "Hobbit Hole". Jeff tried to get over there, but a combination of the water being too high an the ladder seeming too rickety meant he couldn't get up there.
