Here are the best photos of other hikes that we have done off of Mountain Loop Highway.

Here is a nice view of the Stillaguamish Valley. We stayed waaay down there.

In addition to being the towns namesake, this is the Granite Falls Fishway or fish ladder. It is about halfway between town and our cabin and is short walk from the road. It is an amazing engineering project, you can walk over metal grates and see the river being slowed by the walls below.

The blasting done has also left the landscape oddly stunning.

This is Beaver Plant Lake, one of three lakes right next to each other on the Ashland Lakes Trail.

This is Pinnacle Lake, which is off the same road as several other lakes, including the lake above. This shot was taken in mid-June and the lake was still 3/4 frozen!! There was also several feet of snow around the lake and on the last mile of the trail. Unfortunately, a mother and daughter were murdered near this lake less than one month later (July 11th), which tainted our feelings about this trail and also our feelings about hiking in the area.

This was taken at an interpretive nature trail. I knew what kind of tree it was at some point, but have now forgotten. It is so beautifully ugly.

This is at about 3300 feet at the end of June on a trail called Mallardy Ridge.

Perry Creek runs through this amazing gorge and on the opposite side there are MANY waterfalls.

This is the view back into the Perry Creek Valley looking toward Big Four Mountain.

This is Perry Creek Falls. Further along the trail, the meadows are some of the best up here, unfortunately, it was still frozen when we were up there.

This is on the trai to Independence Lake. Jeff and Rocky love waterfalls.

And this is Independence Lake.
